Give Ye Them To Eat (GYTTE) was founded in 1977 by the the Methodist Church of Mexico to combat hunger and poverty in rural areas through integrated development programs. The programs are people centered and create conditions where change can take place within the communities.  Communities are supported in building homes that are energy efficient, earthquake proof and affordable, installing ecological sanitation systems,  learning sustainable agricultural practices, participating in community and family health education and learning how to install recycling and water pumping systems as part of “GYTTE” Give Ye Them to Eat.

GYTTE Mission Team

Mission team members participate in the AWARE Program. AWARE stands for Alternative Work-study and Reality Experience. This program provides educational and work experiences for Mexican and international visitors, volunteers, and teams. The AWARE program is designed for adults of all ages, immersing them in the reality of life in rural Mexico as it relates to the issues of hunger, poverty, development and global awareness. This cross-cultural experience focuses on the needs of villagers and farming families and the Church’s response through Christian outreach; sustainable agriculture; community development; health education; creation stewardship; and church and faith development.
