Pastor Heather prepares for renewal leave

Belmont UMC has been awarded a generous grant from the National Clergy Renewal Program, funded by the Lilly Endowment. These grants allow congregations to support their pastors with the gift of extended time away from their ministries and responsibilities.

From April 21 to July 14, Heather hopes to experience God in ever-deepening ways through the spiritual practices of pilgrimage, creativity, and adventure—and she hopes you will, too!

She is grateful to the staff and the many lay leaders who will continue to guide Belmont’s ministries during this time. The grant also provides funds for a part-time interim pastor, and we are delighted that Hunter Wade will be stepping into this role.

On Palm Sunday, April 13, during the Sunday school hour, stop by the Iris Room to learn more about Heather’s plans, enjoy some Italian treats, and pick up a Mini-Renew Retreat Kit and Guide. During worship, we will bless her as she embarks on this sacred time away.
