Holy Week at Belmont UMC

As we come to the close of the forty days of Lent, we look towards Holy Week, the final week of Lent, beginning with Palm Sunday. The Great Three Days or Triduum include Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, the three days before the celebration of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday. We will remember the final week of Jesus’ life with these special services:

Maundy Thursday, April 17 at 7:00pm in the sanctuary we will have a service of Communion with music by the Sanctuary Choir.

This will be a service full of interactive spiritual practices for children. As we remember Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper, all children will be invited to receive Holy communion, foot-washing, and time to color at the reflection station. Childcare for 3 years and younger will begin at 6:15pm.

Good Friday, April 18, we will have one service at 7:00pm in the sanctuary. This candlelight Tenebrae service will remember the final day of Jesus’ life. Music will be offered by the Sanctuary Choir, organist Robbie Jones, and bass Billy Kirby.

Childcare for 3 years and younger will begin at 6:15pm.

Easter Sunday, April 20, we will have two identical services in the sanctuary at 8:10am and 10:30am. These festive services will feature music by our Sanctuary Choir and Open Door Singers, joined by organ, brass, and percussion.

Childcare is available for 3 years and younger, for both the 8:10am and 10:30am services. Please plan to pick up your children after the 8:10am service so that families can enjoy the Easter breakfast together.
