SYMBOLS

[cs_content][cs_element_section _id=”1″ ][cs_element_layout_row _id=”2″ ][cs_element_layout_column _id=”3″ ][cs_element_text _id=”4″ ][cs_content_seo]Early Christians used a wide variety of symbols to express their faith. At times, these symbols provided a sort of secret language among believers.
Belmont UMC’s own Mary Helen Marigza appears in two UMCOM videos that explain the butterfly and Chrismon symbols. Mary Helen Marigza is a lifelong United Methodist, a past missionary with the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society, and a current member of Belmont United Methodist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Marigza created a set of Christian Symbols out of recycled church window glass to tell people about the meaning behind common religious symbols.
